Med-IREN Consortium Meets in Pisa: Advancing Nature-Based Solutions Across the Mediterranean

Published by Dimitra Panou on

The third Med-IREN Consortium Meeting took place at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, Italy, bringing together project partners to discuss progress, share regional challenges, and exchange innovative Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for sustainable development. Led by Thanasis Sfetsos, Project Coordinator of Med-IREN, the meeting highlighted one year of achievements and strengthened collaboration among Mediterranean regions — from green walls and bio-bricks in Egaleo, to coastal protection measures in Tuscany, and NBS advocacy in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The visit concluded with a site tour at Marina di Pisa, where new materials are being tested to combat coastal flooding.
