The Municipality of Aigaleo continues its dynamic initiatives for climate resilience by participating in the European project Med-IREN (Mediterranean Critical Infrastructure Resilience Engineering with Nature-based Solutions).

As part of this effort, two informative actions were successfully carried out to raise awareness among students and educators about climate change and nature-based solutions.

The Med-IREN research project focuses on developing resilient infrastructures through innovative nature-based solutions, with applications in critical sectors such as energy, transport, water, digital technologies, and social services. A key pillar of the project is participatory design, emphasizing collaboration with the local community.

In this context, the Municipality of Aigaleo, in collaboration with the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, organized a specially designed educational program on climate change on February 14 and 17, with the participation of students from the 4th General High School and the Evening Gymnasium & High School of Aigaleo.

Students had the opportunity to learn about the project and actively engage in participatory design processes, contributing to the formulation of solutions that will be implemented in our city.

Through initiatives like these, the Municipality of Aigaleo invests in knowledge, participation, and sustainable development, strengthening cooperation with the younger generation for a more resilient and greener future. šŸŒæšŸŒ
