Indicator Completed: Health Exposure to Heatwaves for CLIMAAX Project

The Health Exposure to Heatwaves indicator has been finalized, focusing on population groups most vulnerable to heat-related illness and mortality, including older adults, young children, and people with pre-existing conditions.

Developed through participatory Focus Groups in July 2025, this indicator linked health and demographic data with spatial analysis to map where vulnerable populations are concentrated. The process strengthened the connection between public health concerns and climate risk assessment.

This work supports targeted health protection measures during extreme heat events.
