Indicator Completed: Workers’ Exposure to Heatwaves for CLIMAAX Project

We are excited to share the completion of the Workers’ Exposure to Heatwaves indicator for Aigaleo. This indicator assesses climate risk for occupational groups required to work outdoors or in non-cooled environments, such as municipal workers, construction workers, and market vendors.

Through Focus Group discussions, municipal services and researchers jointly identified high-risk occupations and linked labor conditions with heat exposure patterns. The indicator highlights occupational heat stress as a critical but often overlooked climate risk.

The results provide a basis for protective measures and heat safety planning for workers.
