Climate-Adapt4EOSC 3rd General Assembly in Aveiro: advancing coordination, use cases and climate adaptation services within EOSC
šThe Climate-Adapt4EOSC Third General Assembly is currently taking place from 3 to 5 February 2026 at the Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal. This in-person meetingĀ providesĀ a valuable opportunity for the entire consortium of the project to come together,Ā takeĀ stock of progress,Ā validateĀ priorities, engage in openĀ discussionsĀ and agree on upcoming activities and next steps.
š£ļø The GA opened with a project overview delivered by the project coordinator, Thanasis Sfetsos, followed by presentations from consortium partners,Ā including Kollol Chakraborty from Technovative Solutions LTD (TVS), Nick Juty from The University of Manchester, Matti Heikkurinen and Vyacheslav Tykhonov from CODATA and Feroz Farazi from University of Cambridge. Later in theĀ morning, Tom Mackenzie and Clothilde B. from G.A.C. Group (GAC) France deliveredĀ anĀ overview onĀ communication andĀ disseminationĀ activities.
Then, dedicated sessions on Use Case progress enabled partnersĀ to assess achievements to date :

š The afternoon provided an opportunity for one of the projectās partners, Porto de Aveiro, to organise a visit for the consortium to Aveiro and its protected areas. The tour of the coastal zone, including Vagueira Beach and Costa Nova, highlighted the scale of coastal erosion affecting the city, exacerbated by strong wave dynamics.
The ascent of the Barra Lighthouse, combined with circulation through the port area, offered an overview of the coastal lagoon and wetlands of high ecological value, as well as the port-related investments shaping the area.
šĀ With this meeting, the Climate-Adapt4EOSC consortium continues to build a shared vision for delivering interoperable, sustainable climate adaptation services within the European Open Science CloudĀ (EOSC)Ā ecosystem.
